Data- Now What?

  • Don’t make big decisions based on one piece of evidence!

  • Data needs to come from multiple sources

  • Data driven decision making does not simply require good data; it also requires good decisions

Within our schools there are many opportunites to look at data. Creating a process of how to look and experience data is crucial. Conversations and collaboration are needed in order to create common understandings about data and what it means and how the data can be used effectively. 

One of the keys to collecting data that is  used for system wide collection, is to be sure that the data is being collected the same way. This is not an easy task and takes practice and persistence.
